Rear Fiona Cameron and Bob Baldie
Seated Gordon Peterkin – Lady Fraser – President Tim Hale
Forfar Rotary Club had a two reasons to celebrate this week at their regular meeting. President Tim Hale had the pleasant duty to welcome a new member to the club when Bob Baldie was inducted into the world wide membership of Rotary. Bob is a well know man in the town where he is head technical teacher at Forfar Academy. He is especially recognised for his work with youngsters being involved with after school activities and with his work with Strathmore Rugby Club. His enthusiasm and knowledge will be a great asset to Forfar Rotary.
Also on the agenda was the introduction of Lady Fiona Fraser, speaker for the evening who gave an insight to life as a parliamentarians wife, delivering her interesting talk to all who were in attendance. She skilfully used her talk of her personal life to wind up with her complimenting the club on their huge contribution to Cancer Research. Her interest in visiting the club where she has spoken previously gives rise to her being so well known at the club that Lady Fiona or Lady Fraser is quite happy to be welcomed as simply Fiona. She certainly has a great rapport with the members who listened to her talk, effortlessly delivered without notes.
