LITTER PICKERS PICK LITTER

This Sunday morning a volunteer group of Forfar Rotarians headed to the Forfar Loch Country Park on order to collect paper, plastic and glass litter left behind by users if this beautiful facility.

Environmental Convenor Scotty Ballantyne headed the operation and after a two hour trek all round the various paths, paths through trees as well as a clean up the children’s park area declared a result which can be seen by the bags displayed in the photos. It is difficult to understand why it seems acceptable to throw away rubbish when there are bins provided.

When speaking to a couple walking round they politely thanked us and told us of their experience as visitors to the caravan park. Noisy teenagers at the children’s park and always leave it in a mess. This is not what we Forfarians want to hear about our town.

Forfar Rotary are keen to add further projects for consideration and would welcome suggestions but we also appeal for others to assist either as a future “Member of the Club” or as a volunteer “Friend of Rotary”

President Colin Muir was delighted with the response from club Members
