Strathmore Classic Car Tour.

Buoyed by the success of the inaugural running of the Strathmore Classic Car Tour the Rotary Club of Forfar were encouraged to hold another event in 2017. Enthusiasts were quick to register for the event when it was announced that it would be run again this year.

Such events need Sponsorship and Fiskens of Forfar the Vauxhall and Kia dealerships pledged to repeat its sponsorship and this was followed by a further sponsorship commitment from Mark Guild of Guild Homes.

The club are most most greatful for this commitment as well as all the companies who assisted by advertising in the brochure / route map details.

Success brings its own problems and their was much scatching of heads to “come up with the goods” at the second time of asking. For example a different route meant looking for suitable stops for lunch and this was means somewhere on a route that could cater for around 120 people arriving at more or less the same time. However the band of organisers brought it altogether and so announced the 2017 Strathmore Classic Car Tour which again would donate the profis to the Scotlands Charity Air Ambulance.

The final sum has not yet been finalised but it will definitely run to a few thousand pounds which will eventually be “winging” its way to help keep the helicopter flying to emergencies when speed is of the essence.

Entrants are already asking for the Forfar Rotary Club to run the event again in 2018 and practically all present are keen to “sign up” for another great day out.
