Santa at The Cross

Santa at ”The Cross”

This weeks frost was a real indication of what lies ahead over what must now be officially called winter. However Forfar Rotary are surging ahead with preparations for bringing Santa to The Cross on Thursday 24th November. As usual proceedings will start at 6.00pm and the much anticipated arrival of Santa and his helpers at around 6.30pm. Santa just hopes the big hole at the Cross has been filled in before the 24th, he would not like his sleigh to fall into it.

The sleigh is currently being checked over and new lights due to be fitted to make it brighter than ever. Santa was wanting a cosy fire inside but health and safety said no, so it up to the children to give him a roasting reception. Parents are reminded to approach Sata's sleigh from the rear and not over the barriers put in place for safety reasons.

We have characters from the Pantomime to mingle with the crowd and of course the Instrumental Band will play and accompany the singing. We are intending to have and extra celebrity this year , Baxter the Bridie hopes to leave Station Park and make his way to The Cross.

Parents are reminded that we will collect the letters to Santa on the night and could they make sure that it contains a legible “Name and Address” to ensure that nobody is disappointed by not getting a letter back from Santa. It is quite a job for Santa to write to everyone before Christmas so your letters are best handed in on the night.

Make it a good start in the lead up to Christmas by attending for the switch on of the lights and then wait on the “is it nearly Christmas yet” from your offspring.

Details of Santas evening visits round the town and outlying areas will soon be detailed so that you can make sure which evening he will arrive in your street.
