Strathmore Classic Car Tour

Inaugural Strathmore Classic Car Tour

Forfar Rotary Club wishes the extend heartfelt gratitude for the generosity from all concerned with the inaugural Strathmore Classic Car Tour.

On a day that started in sunshine it proved to be the perfect start to see the Angus countryside at its best. The lunch at Clova Hotel was bathed in sunshine letting everyone relax and enjoy viewing each others cars.

Arriving a Glamis Castle was done just in time as the forecast proved to be very accurate with the rain holding off long enough for cars to be parked and to enjoy a delicious meal in the comfort of the restaurant.

Bringing the proceedings to a close with a thank you from President Paula Elvin to all concerned, she handed over to Alan Cairns to wind up the event with further information of winners in different categories. The winners were presented with their gift in appreciation of their efforts by Vivian Fisken from the Main Sponsors "Fiskens of Forfar.

The main beneficiary of the event, Scotland's Charity Air Ambulance, represented by James Gray-Cheape then gave some details of how much it cost to keep the helicopter service running and how many trip it has done etc.

Finally Alan gave out the news that the sponsorship total to be handed over would be over £15000. A total that was way beyond the Rotary Clubs expectations and was roundly applauded by all.
