Forfar Rotary's International Coat Appeal.
Imagine this, Forfar Rotary Club are once again appealing for your help. But here is a first, we do not want your money, just the coat off your back. Our Appeal is “countrycoats2syria ” and this request comes from our International Committee.
As you are aware we not only commit to asisting where we can in the community but, as part of Rotary worldwide we need to help those elsewhere in the world. It was to this end that Katharine McLean from the International committee saw details of this appeal and thought we could do something worthwhile to help the suffering of those caught up in Syria, cold and hungary and living under canvas during the coldest time of the year.
Waterproof Coats are what we are looking for, something you perhaps have, lying in a wardrobe unused but serviceable that could save a life. Men women and childrens clothes are needed as soon as possible, their plight is inhumane. Maybe you have childrens jackets that no longer fit because they have outgrown them but could be donated then please help our International committee.
This must be the easiest request ever to fulfill as all you need to do is take whatever waterproof coats and jackets to
ANDREW BEGG T/A DAVID GUILD, 40 WEST HIGH STREET FORFAR
this will be the collection point for donations from around Angus and is to our knowledge the only one of two in Scotland. Due to the urgency of the appeal it will only be for the Month of February.
Further Details can be seen on our website www.forfarrotary.org.uk and our Facebook page where more information on the charity gives insight to those in desperate need.
Look at the picture above – it shows the reality of a Syrian winter for people who have had to flee their homes with only the clothes that they were wearing. People, just like us, communities who want nothing more than simply to go home and rebuild their lives.
