East Sutherland Rotary Classic Car Run

The Start at Dornoch Town Centre.

Rotarians Alan Cairns, Colin Muir, and David Stobbs plus long-suffering navigators Pam, Joan and Lynda drove North to take part in this inaugural event which involved negotiating a picturesque route from Dornoch to Lochinver and back. There were over 40 entries including a 1917 Le France with no seat belts and no weather protectrion which had been driven from SE England! Despite the forcasts the weather stayed mainly fair and the evening was rounded off with a ceilidh and BBQ at the village hall in Clashmore, which was delayed because the host Rotarians had forgotten to collect the burgers and sausages!

However a great time was had by all and the East Sutherland Rotary Club raised well over £10 000, mainly for the RNLI.
