Guide Dog Trophy Award

Forfar Rotary returned to normal after a busy November / December as members held their first meeting of 2013. President Tim Hale thanked everyone for their efforts in making the new Santa Sleigh, assisting at the arrival of Santa at the Cross and to the 10 nightly visits made taking Santa through the streets of Forfar and district. Particular thanks went to Sandy Ogilvie for all the work in masterminding the Santa programme both at the Cross and the trips around the town. President Tim also paid tribute to the other organisations for their assistance in the street collection during Santa’s street rounds adding that they will be invited to send a representative to collect a cheque for their respective organisations in the near future.

Thanks were also paid to the generous giving by the people of Forfar who once again supported the efforts of Forfar Rotary.

Sandy was also presented with the Guide Dog Trophy for his sterling work. The award is given to someone who has made a significant effort on behalf of the Club. He was presented with the trophy by the previous holder Ian Findlay who on congratulating Sandy remarked it was an easy decision to make and that it also allowed him the privilege of knowing the trophy would only be going across the road to his neighbour.
