Forfar Rotary Donations

Forfar Rotary President Mike Cumming paid a visit to Murton Wildlife Trust to hand over a cheque for £500.00 as part of the clubs commitment to provide financial assistance to local projects and clubs etc.

The Murton Wildlife Trust just outside Forfar not only provides for the environment but also assists with an educational programme. For example, where young people have left school with no positive destination they work with Skills Development Scotland and 16+ Learning Choices to provide a work experience element of the young person's Activity Agreement. This provides a "hands on" work programme where trainees assist with animal welfare, site maintenance and building pathways etc. Their work helps to provide a better visitor centre where Murton now has the added benefits of a canteen. animal pends for public interactio,as well as country walks around the woods and lochans to get back to nature. It is being recognised from far and wide as a example of excellence in conservation and recreation working side by side.

Financial assistance was also given with a £200.00 donation to the Handicapped and Disabled Club who meet every week. They have for many years been held in affection by Forfar Rotary when they pay their annual visit for an Entertainments Night.
