50 YEARS SERVICE RECOGNISED.
Forfar Rotary President Tim Hale had a couple of pleasant duties to perform this week when the club met at the Royal Hotel. This was the first get together of the club since the introduction of Zoom Meetings due to the affects of the pandemic and a good turn out was expected.
Firstly Tim welcomed everyone, delighted to be meet face to face and secondly to make a presentation to a fellow Rotarian. Last year it was agreed that Danny Bell should be recognised for his 50 years of service BUT Covid got in the way and Danny wanted to receive the award in the company of all the Rotarian friends even if it meant a delay. So everything was put on hold until we could safely meet again as a club.
Present on the night with Danny was his Daughter, his Son in Law and a very proud Granddaughter Gavin Drummond who gave a summary of Danny’s work and achievements in his time in Rotary and his service to the town of Forfar and that no doubt continue.
A slow return to normality is hoped with the club to meet in a mixture of Zoom and Face to Face meetings.
