FINANCIAL ASSIST FROM THE STRATHMORE CLASSIC CAR TOUR
This week the Rotary Club of Forfar finalised their accounts after the successful running of the Strathmore Classic Car Tour 2019. As with the previous three Strathmore Classic Car Tours the proceeds from the event were once again earmarked for Scotland’s Charity Air Ambulance (SCAA). The event organiser Alan Cairns and Rotarian Members Sandy Ogilvie, Ian Findlay and David Russell were met at the Scone HQ of SCAA by Fiona Dennis to hand over the cheque and to be introduced to some of the crew.
INSIGHT INTO THE S.C.A.A. OPERATIONS
The Rotarians were then taken to the control room where the first aid crew gave the Rotarians information and further insight to the types of cases where the Air Ambulance is used. Their knowledge of where and when they might be required to go anywhere in Scotland is backed up by their records, time of year, weather conditions, sporting activities etc. - all important information. All that even before they take off.
In conclusion Alan Cairns handed over a cheque to the Charity. The sum raised on the day was £7833.40 but with Gift Aid added the final total was £8505.90. This is the Forfar Rotary Club’s fourth donation to SCAA from monies raised by the Strathmore Classic Car Tours.

STRATHMORE CLASSIC CAR TOUR 2019
The 2019 Strathmore Classic Car Tour was held on a beautiful day on Sunday June 24th. The route starting from Forfar took the cars along the A94 to Balkeerie, Newtyle then onward to Stanley then by the B8063 to Logiealmond. The lunch stop was at the picturesque Loch Tummel Hotel . After a soup and sandwich, or packed lunch, it was onto the afternoon drive. The afternoon route took the cars through Trinafour and Calvine. The route continued via Tullymurdoch and Alyth to the finish at Glamis Castle for an optional High Tea concluding with the presentation of prizes and words of praise and thanks to our major sponsors “Fisken Motor Group” and “Guild Homes”
The Strathmore Classic Car Tour 2020 is already in the planning stage and work is in progress with route planning. The event will feature a different route taking the cars and their crews along quiet and scenic roads going to ???? I wonder where?
