Forfar Rotary Assist Forfar Academy Project

Forfar Rotarian Bob Baldie asked the Club to support Forfar Academy Technical Department to enable them to purchase materials to produce PPE Visors. As the club are already involved in their programmme of Covid 19 projects it was felt that this would be a very worthwhile addition. Forfar Rotary President Doug McFarlane was pleased to inform Bob that the club have agreed to donate £300. In return Forfar Rotary will have access to some of the visors should they find a need for them.

You be maybe aware -all the Angus Secondary Schools Technical departments have come together to manufacture vital PPE visors, Cloth Masks and scrubs bags for key workers across the whole of Dundee & Angus “Free of charge.”

In order to keep this a free of charge project to essential workers they are looking to raise funds to keep their manufacturing efforts going in Arbroath,  Carnoustie, Forfar, Brechin , Monifieth and Kirrie schools.

To date they have supplied over 6000 visors into the Angus and Dundee  area which includes the NHS departments, Carehomes and local businesses like Pharmacies, Opticians and Banks, as well as local retailers that are open.

You can see some of their work documented through @Fatech_ed and @AngsYngEngs on Twitter. So if you can help with finance it is a much needed product in the fight against Covid 19.

They are looking to buy around £2000-3000 worth of materials and machine consumables  to enable all the schools to continue this Covid 19 project producing a further 6000 visors.
