24 May 2019Rainbows yield Pot of Gold

A Pot of Gold for the Rainbows.

Forfar Rotary President Jim McCluskey and Treasurer Bill Reid made a visit to the Kingsmuir Rainbows this week. They were there to hand over not a pot of Gold but a cheque for £150.00.

The small group made a request for funding for their idea of buying pop up tents and other items to give the girls a sense of the outdoor in the safety of the hall. This would then be added to an outdoor BBQ and games day.

After consideration of the appeal it was granted for two reasons, Kingsmuir residents support the Santa Sleigh every year and also no matter the size of the group or its projects if it is deemed worthwhile then provided the Rotary club has funds then support will be given. The support is not always monetary as the club also assist in civic projects.

Leader Jay Brechin thanked the president for the funds which will hopefully extend their programme and encourage new members to come along on a Thursday night to the Kingsmuir Hall.
