Primary School Quiz

Primary School Quiz

Forfar Rotary Club held the annual Primary School Quiz this week with a healthy turn out of supporters there to encourage the four teams. Parents, Teachers and Family members were treated to a close competition. Teams of four from Langlands, Tealing, White hills and Strathmore were welcomed by President Bill Reid who was also Quiz Master, explained the format of the quiz and jokingly told parents not to shout our the answers as they would probably be wrong anyway.

So the evening got underway with ten rounds of six questions in each category on subjects such as History, Animals, Geography and by the half way break it was all to play for. After the final round it was obvious it was going to be a close affair but eventual by a winning margin of only three points the winners were team Whitehills. Appearing for the first time, the Tealing team were in second place and we hope to see the school represented again next year.

Community Service convenor Scott Ballantine was well pleased with how the evening ran so smoothly and his team deserve recognition for a well organised competition. A light refreshment was provided at the end of the evening providing an opportunity while photos to be taken and supporters and competitors could relax at the end.

Whitehills will now represent Forfar in the next phase of the competition.
