Blowing Her Trumpet

Blowing Her Trumpet

Forfar Rotary President Paula Elvin accompanied by Rotarian Ian Findlay popped in to the practice night of the Forfar Instumental Band this week. She was not blowing her own trumpet as the picture would make you believe but was there to hand over a cheque to the Band in support of their important role of keeping Brass Band music alive in Forfar. The town would be all the poorer should groups like this folded due to lack of funds.

Paula said the £500 donation was part of the Forfar Rotary Club's commitment to put something back into the local community as well as supporting Internation Aid where and when it is needed.

Having listened to the practise she was full of praise at the wonderful sound of Brass Music and they will again be assisting the Rotary Club when they bring Santa to the Cross. Departing to let the band continue with their practice session Paula said “it was good to see that there were quite a number of younger players, they are the future of the band”
