Rotay Helps the Helpers

Rotary Helps the Helpers

As part of their pledge to award hard working organisations Forfar Rotary Club this week donated £500 to Jim McCluskey to assist the efforts of the Salvation Army in Forfar.

This money recognises the efforts of the Salvation Army and this contributes to their annual “Big Collection” appeal. The work undertaken in assisting with the homeless and other community projects for disadvantaged citizens is often taken for granted but it cannot be undertaken by hard work alone and cash is understandably a neccessity.

Forfar Rotary President Paula Elvin commented that this cash award is great, because it shows that our efforts in raising funds can and does make a difference in the local community. Our funding provides an opportunity for the Salvation Army to implement their often unsung work for people in stressful and distressing situations
