Congratulations to Sandy Ogilvie for his sterling effort in bringing Santa to the residents of Forfar. Assisted by some Rotarians, in particular Alan and Adrian White and Allan Cairns for pulling the Sleigh (albeit with a 4x4) as well as a motley crew of collectors and Santa Impersonators. Sandy orchestrated the nightly collection and then emptying and counting of the collection can proceeds.

This community service has prompted a few emails through the web site inviting Santa to call to streets not mentioned in the planned routes advertised in the press. If this is to be repeated in the future then there are lessons that have been learned as to how this can be improved upon or changed. Letham residents have also asked if Letham could be included next year so it will further enhance the event but also means extra nights and extra volunteers.

The other helpers from the local bodies who contributed with their much needed assistance, will all be invited by the club in Jan 2012 to receive a cheque to boost their own funds. Rotary will also benefit from the generousity of the good people of Forfar and this will be announced to the club in the near future.

Well done once again to those who were willing to give up some of their evenings to assist and show the public face of Rotary.
