A large crowd visited the Cross in Forfar to the switch on of the lights on Thursday Night and to welcome Santa, Mrs Claus and the Elves. Forfar Rotary Club sponsored by Tesco Forfar were hosts once more to this successful pre Christmas event and were delighted at the support from the people of Forfar. The singing of carols enhanced by members from the church choirs and accompanied by the Instrumental Band were the prelude to the switching on of the lights by the Lady Provost. The appearance of the Santa Sleigh was the highlight as children and their parents handed over their letters to Santa and were each given an orange and sweets. So, the scene and the mood is set as children look forward to receiving their letter from Santa.
