Forfar Rotary Club President Colin Muir conducted a very busy night at their weekly meeting when they hosted pupils from Forfar Academy.

After a meal and a weekly talk it was left to President Colin to present to Christy Simpson the Technology Prize and he is the first recipient to recieve this new trophy which will be competed for annuually. It was left to Forfar Academy teacher Ann Callander to collect the Annual Sports Trophy on behalf of this years winner Rebecca Fletcher who was unfortunately unable to attend.

 

Also attending the meeting from Forfar Academy were the the candidates for this years RYLA camp at Abernethy where Allanah Soutar will attend at the Girls weekend and James Beattie will attend the following weekend in the boys section. Rotary Youth Leadership Awards (RYLA) is Rotary's leadership training program for young people and over many years young men and women have benefitted from attending this fun but demanding weekend.

 

Allanah and James will return to the club to give a talk on their experiences and how they feel thet benefitted from this leadership programme.
